The Singapore government since 2025 is taking a slew of initiatives to assist citizens with economic challenges and to revel in the country’s 60th anniversary. In this article, we summarize all these cash payouts and other related benefits.
SG60 Vouchers
The government is gifting SG60 vouchers to every Singaporean citizen aged 21 and above in celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday. The amount is set at $600 for those between the ages of 21 and 59, while $800 is being allocated for those aged 60 and above.
The vouchers will be distributed in July 2025, with seniors being awarded first. Used like CDC vouchers, SG60 vouchers can be spent at participating supermarkets, heartland merchants, and hawkers. Vouchers will expire on December 31, 2026.
Personal Income Tax Rebate
To add further financial support, a personal income tax rebate has been introduced. The rebate rate is at 60% of tax payable for the Year of Assessment 2025, and the rebate is capped at $200.
Supporting Families
The government launched several other schemes to help families, especially those with multiple children. The family is granted $1,000 every year for every third and subsequent child, starting from the year in which the child turns 1 until the child turns 6.
The first $5,000 top-up will be available under the Child Development Account (CDA) First Step Grant to help with preschool and healthcare expenses. A one-time $5,000 Large Family MediSave Grant will help cover pregnancy and delivery expenses.
Further Household Benefits
Beyond one-off payouts, households are also eligible for further assistance. Every Singaporean household will receive $800 worth of CDC vouchers, with $500 given out in May 2025 and the remaining $300 given out in January 2026. They can be redeemed with participating supermarkets, merchants, and hawkers.
Eligible households living in HDBs can receive up to $760 in U-Save rebates to offset utilities. Every household will receive $400 in Climate Vouchers to be used for environmentally friendly home appliances. Previously, this was available only to HDBs, but this time private property households are included.
SG60 ActiveSG Credits and SG Culture Pass
In granting credit for the purpose of promoting and encouraging active living and cultural engagement alike, all ActiveSG members will get $100 worth of credits to spend on sports and recreational activities with family and friends.
In addition, every Singaporean who is 18 years and above will receive $100 in SG Culture Pass credits, redeemable for arts and heritage activities, from cultural performances to museum exhibitions.
